Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's and Dad's to be out there!
I was hoping that our son would be home by now to celebrate this special day devoted to dad's but, unfortunately, we are still waiting.
Quick update on our adoption:
The recent (as of February 2013) U.S. Embassy changes to the DRC adoption process was a major set back for us. The investigation took close to 7 months to complete (our paperwork has been with the Embassy since November 2012). After numerous emails, a call to the Embassy (after the estimated investigation timeframe had passed) and a letter to our U.S. Representative we finally received good news this past week. The Embassy investigation on our case was complete! Now we are waiting for the Visa appointment. Please pray that the appointment goes well and our son's Visa is issued. Thank God we are one step closer!
The other thing that we need prayer for is for the DRC Ministry to lift the temporary suspension of exit letters. This is what is required for our son to leave the DRC, presuming his Visa will be issued. Please keep us in your prayers over what we hope will only be a few weeks.
Hopefully, it won't be too much longer before we can hug and kiss our son. In the meantime, I made a Shutterfly album for my husband to celebrate Father's Day. He was brought to tears...adoption has definitely made us both emotional people!
YAY!! I'm so happy you are making progress. We are just getting into that phase now as we are waiting for our I600 to be approved. We are hoping the Embassy will find a more efficient way of doing things and that there will be no more big hiccups in the process.
